BECKY ABBOTT - STUDIO OWNER

Ballet, Lyrical, Tap, Clogging, Hip Hop, Show Choir, Cheer, Certified USA Gymnastics Instructor

I was born and raised in Salmon, Idaho. I started dancing when I was 3 years old. When I was little there wasn’t a studio in my home town, so my mom would drive me every week to dance lessons 6 hours round trip. I am so grateful for her sacrifice and helping me to realize at a young age I wanted to be a dance teacher and give kids the opportunity to learn to dance/tumble close to home and love it as I do. Growing up I took tap, ballet, modern, clogging, jazz, and gymnastics. I was a cheerleader for 2 years in Jr. High and 4 years in High School, being team captain 4 of those years, loving the dance part of cheerleading the most. I attend Ricks College for a year, taking dance classes. I taught for 3 years at the studio I took from before following my husband to Boise. I started Becky’s Dance Co. out of my garage 22 years ago, in an effort to fulfill this life long dream of mine, of owning my own studio. I was an assistant cheerleading coach at Centennial High School from 1996 - 1997.

I love seeing my students learn and grow and most of all have better self esteem as they leave my studio each week. That is my main goal, for them to feel better about themselves and love dance/cheer/gymnastics as I do. I love teaching dance & gymnastics & spending time with my family! I have a great family support system, my husband Brad and my 8 children.

I started dancing with Becky’s Dance Co. when I was 4 and started teaching for Becky’s Dance Co. when I was 14. I started Ballet/Lyrical with Miss Shayna when I was 16 and grew to love it! I danced with the Rocky Mountain Diamond Dancers my senior year, where we took 1st in the State. After high school I took a break from dance to serve a full time mission for my church. Upon my return from my mission I attended BYU- Idaho where I started their dance major program. I met my husband Austin and we are now married and are residing in the valley where I can continue to go to school and dance.  I love to choreograph and love to teach all types of dance. I feel I express myself best through dance and I love to be on stage. I look forward to sharing my love for dance with the students at Becky’s Dance Co.

REBECCA SANDERSON

Ballroom, Ballet/Tap Instructor

I graduated BYU-Idaho with a bachelor's in Exercise Physiology and a minor in Dance with emphasis on Ballroom teaching. I was able to dabble in many forms of dance, but ballroom is by far my favorite. I learned both Bronze and Silver levels in most of the American style dances. I have been teaching at Becky's for 3 years and taught social dance at BYU-I for several semesters. I often drag my husband along when I teach. I say it's to help me demonstrate, but really it's to remind him to dance with me! We have two daughters that also take lessons at Becky's.

MORGEN MCINNES

Jazz, Hip Hop, Technique, Solo Instructor

I started dancing at Studio C in Eagle 10 years ago when my family moved to Idaho. I competed for four years then joined Rocky Mountain High School's Diamond Dance team. During my four years as a Diamond, I learned dedication, grit, teamwork, and confidence in myself and my dancing. I believe dancing is most powerful when students are able to explore their creativity while still learning the proper technique. Dancing in a positive environment helps dancers build positive self image and healthy self esteem. And that's what dance is all about.

I started dancing at the age of 3 at Stars Dance Studio and instantly fell in love with it. I have taken classes at various studios over the years as well as attended Idaho Fine Arts Academy from 6th grade to 10th grade where I learned so much about dance and found my love for choreographing. I joined the Rocky Mountain dance team in 2018 and am one of the current captains for the 2021-2022 season. I have learned so much not only about dance but as well as so many valuable life skills. I have a true passion for dance and look forward to sharing it with others!

MELISSA SABADIN

Gymnastics Instructor

I'm a wife and a mother of 3!  I have been apart of the dance, gymnastics, cheer, and the performance world since I can remember. I started as a young child and pursued many forms throughout my adolescents into adulthood. I have been apart of teams, I have practiced many genres of dance and cheer as well aerial arts. I have taught choreography for holiday performances as well has high school choir. I have assited with gymnastics, tumbling and acrobatics as well as many sporting activities!! I'm energetic, fun yet have structure to my classes. I hope to build strength, flexibility and confidence within each student. My love for the arts and the sports has followed me throughout my life in many ways. I believe they are not only wonderful and beneficial for the body but the mind and soul. So much mental and physical growth can happen within one season it is amazing! As an adult I became a massage therapist so my knowledge about muscles, proper body mechanics as well as injury prevention follows into my training and teaching. I believe proper stretching and technique is extremely important! I strive for pretty lines and pointed toes! I have helped train and teach my daughter gymnastics and dance as well as other gymnast teammates along the way conquer challenges, whether it was confidence boosting or break down of the steps in order for them to conquer that skill and achieve their personal goals. The arts are a passion and kids are the future and I'm thankful and excited to be apart of both! I look forward to becoming apart of this wonderful team here at Becky's!
