BECKY ABBOTT - STUDIO OWNER

I was born and raised in Salmon, Idaho, and began dancing at just 3 years old. Since there wasn’t a local dance studio in my hometown, my mom would drive me every week - six hours round trip - for lessons. I’m forever grateful for her sacrifice. It helped me realize early on that I wanted to become a dance teacher and give kids the opportunity to dance, tumble, and cheer close to home—and love it as much as I do.

As a child, I trained in tap, ballet, modern, clogging, jazz, and gymnastics. I was a cheerleader for two years in junior high and four years in high school, serving as team captain for all four of those years. I attended Ricks College for a year, continuing my dance education, and later taught for three years at the studio where I had once been a student. After moving to Boise with my husband, I served as assistant cheerleading coach at Centennial High School from 1996 to 1997.

Twenty-six years ago, I founded Becky’s Dance Co. out of my garage, pursuing a lifelong dream of owning my own studio.
​
Watching my students learn, grow, and develop confidence each week is one of my greatest joys. My goal has always been for every child to leave my studio feeling better about themselves and excited to return. I absolutely love teaching dance, cheer and gymnastics - and spending time with my family. I’m blessed with an incredible support system: my husband, Brad, and our eight amazing children.

I started dancing when I was 2 years old and quickly fell in love with all styles—from ballet and tap to hip hop. I’ve been taking classes for over 12 years and have spent the last 5 years on a competitive team, where I’ve received numerous top awards for my solo performances at competitions.
​
For over 5 years, I’ve worked as an assistant teacher in ballet/tap, lyrical, hip hop, and gymnastics. This year, I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to teach my own classes and share my passion for dance, cheer, and gymnastics with all of my students here at Becky’s Dance Co.

Hi! My name is Brooklyn and I’m so excited to be a part of Becky’s Dance Co team! Growing up I have taken ballet, gymnastics and cheer and I have a big passion for helping kids grow in confidence while having fun.
My goal in every class is to help each child feel seen, valued, and proud of themselves. I love creating a positive, encouraging space where every student feels excited to move and try new things. I bring lots of energy, patience, and a genuine interest in each child’s growth—not just as dancers, but as people. I can’t wait to meet your child and help them shine!
